Lisa, founder of Lisa’s Counter Culture, is passionate about “real food” and loves being able to share her recipes and techniques for creating nourishing and traditional food. She is especially interested and skilled in fermentation and can go on for hours on all the crazy and fun things you can do with ferments while supporting your health and wellness.
Much of her inspiration comes from the amazing text, Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats by Sally Fallon and Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition, and Craft of Live-Culture Foods by Sandor Ellix Katz. Through continued study and nutrition research over the last 10 years, she has found her home in the Paleo/Primal world. Her main tenet is “be mindful and eat real food”.
Lisa’s Counter Culture offers focused hands-on workshops and coaching. All workshops and recipes are gluten-free and include some traditionally-prepared grains and nuts. Workshops include offerings such as Soups and Bone Broths, Kombucha!, Krazy for Kefir, Kimchi and Kraut, Fermented Condiments and even a workshop on offal called The Odd Bits.
